Val Joe "Rudy" Galindo is a former American figure skater who has competed in both individual and doubles skating. As a single skater, he was the 1996 United States National Champion, 1987 Teen World Champion, and 1996 World Bronze Medalist. As a skater double-band, he played against Kristi Yamaguchi and was the Teen World Champion in 1988 and the US National Champion in 1989 and 1990. He was the first openly gay figure skating champion in the United States. Ky, though the American, World Olympic and Olympic champion Brian Boitano was released long after his career ended.
