A DRIVER is due in court today accused of ploughing into tents at a campsite while drunk - killing a mum-of-two. Anna Roselyn Evans, 46, was one of three people injured when driver Jake Waterhouse, 26, allegedly careered off the road and smashed into her tent.

A DRIVER is due in court today accused of ploughing into tents at a campsite while drunk - killing a mum-of-two.

Anna Roselyn Evans, 46, was one of three people injured when driver Jake Waterhouse, 26, allegedly careered off the road and smashed into her tent.

The mum was rushed to hospital after the horror at the Rhyd y Galen campsite in Bethel, near Caernarfon, Wales, on August 19.

But she tragically couldn't be saved and passed away from her injuries eight days later.

Waterhouse, of Partington, Greater Manchester, was originally charged with causing serious injury by dangerous driving and a string of other offences.

He is due to appear at Mold Crown Court today for a plea hearing.

Anna's son Richard paid tribute to his mother in an emotional post after she died in hospital.

He said: "Tonight I had to say goodbye to the most amazing woman I've ever known.

"It was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. She was my mother, my best friend, my rock and I'm going to miss her so so much.

"She inspired me to do music, art and to always 'do the next interesting thing'. I know I'll do you proud.

"I love you, Mam. I hope you're dreaming of a starry night.

"Here's to the next interesting thing."

Emergency services rushed to the campsite - which describes itself as a "tranquil getaway" for holidaymakers seeking a break in 22 acres of farm land - at around 2am on Monday, August 19.

Pitches at the site near Caernarfon come from just £20 and there are also options including caravans and shepherds huts for glamping.

Waterhouse is also charged with dangerous driving, driving otherwise in accordance with a driving licence, driving a motor vehicle without insurance and failing to provide a breath specimen for analysis.
